goodbyes are never easy

green gets eaten by brown
a plague has descended

no – that’s just fall. oh.

cool replaces the warmth
hunker down
get out your sweaters

yellows and reds burst forth
party decorations for a last hurrah

a hummingbird buzzes close
and then leaves

in a few weeks, they’ll be gone

a little piece of me dies inside

I didn’t mean to go MIA this summer, but it’s been pretty busy work-wise and I’ve been writing more fiction, than I have been writing poetry. Not necessarily a bad thing. Mourning the end of summer, as per usual. Trying to figure out some health things. Adulting seems hard lately.

What Happened to the  Week?

May is almost here, and the days are flying by like a bird caught in a storm. It’s not been smooth sailing here, unfortunately. Dealing with some mental health issues and with a chocolate lab who is recovering from TPLO surgery and who wants to run and play but can’t. Energy levels have been low.

The sun is out, though, and spring is definitely here! I snapped these on campus the other day. Soo pretty outside!! Annd I’ve included some pictures of poor Koda in his cone. Hopefully, the doctor will give us good news at his check-up next week. ๐Ÿ™

I hope everyone has a good weekend! I hope to post more next week!
