I’m walking the path
kicking dandelions
they’ve gone to seed
just like the rest of us

Peepers peep
like peepers do
a springtime herald
so we know, too

May is almost here, and the days are flying by like a bird caught in a storm. It’s not been smooth sailing here, unfortunately. Dealing with some mental health issues and with a chocolate lab who is recovering from TPLO surgery and who wants to run and play but can’t. Energy levels have been low.
The sun is out, though, and spring is definitely here! I snapped these on campus the other day. Soo pretty outside!! Annd I’ve included some pictures of poor Koda in his cone. Hopefully, the doctor will give us good news at his check-up next week. 🙏
I hope everyone has a good weekend! I hope to post more next week!

springtime showers
bring springtime flowers
dripping blossoms
puddles of color

Just some Monday morning inspiration. Being self-reliant can be super lonely sometimes, but no one can choose your path for you. Make your own choices and grow. It’s the only way we bloom.
Hah. I’m really loving the Spring puns this morning. Hope everyone has a great week! ❤️🙂

To the person who left
An old, deflated basketball
In your back yard
To Mother Nature
Who picked it up
Carried it to the next house
Then the next
Until it rested on a muddy bank
That belonged
To a chocolate lab
Who rescued it
Claimed it
As his own
To the countless hours
Through rain, snow, dust and sunlight
Spent catching, jumping
and loving this half-deflated
Junk that no one else wanted
To the person
Who thought that deflated
Meant not useful enough
Who tossed it aside
To the universe who knew
That a chocolate lab needed it
To the water
That brought it
where it needed to be
To Koda who
Loves, loves, loves
His first, dirty, lumpy basketball
That the universe gifted him another
To the universe
Who knew that a chocolate lab
(and their human)
Would spend countless hours in the yard
Playing, catching and listening
To the universe
Who knew that two, lumpy, half-deflated basketballs meant
More fresh air, more exercise, a friend and friends
To the basketballs
who often sit on our front porch
Lovingly named “Outside Balls”
Thank you

Once upon a time, there was a dog who fell in love with a basketball.
He found it one stormy, November day floating in the stream behind his house and claimed it as his own.
Then, for the next nine months, he carried it around the yard everywhere with him. On walks…to go pee…to sniff in the stream for frogs and tasty bits of grass.
…for more on Koda’s basketball, tune in next Monday for a new poem! 🙂

Went for a walk this evening – I am enjoying this warmer weather so, so much! 🙂 Took a few pics that I thought were cool, so thought I’d share. Enjoy!

Went for a walk in the woods next to my house…looked up and thought the trees looked pretty neat, the shapes of the branches and the twisty vines.

Blue sky peeks through the dusky cloud cover and adds more color to an already beautiful sky, as a plane streaks through and leaves a trail of white.

Taking a rest on a fallen branch at the edge of the ravine. Yep, that’s my shoe. Was thinking this would be a great place to do that writing thing that I like to do. 😉
Over all, had a great day. Hope everyone had a great Sunday! Here’s hoping the rest of the week is just as warm and goes by just as fast!
